It's an interesting topic. I happen to believe it's a bit of both. After all, how do we know that what is referred to as 7 days in the bible was really 7 24 hour days? Maybe a day back then was longer and that could be where the evolution all comes in. The point is none of us know and we are all entitled to our beliefs, but I frankly think it's a combination of both stories.
