I actually read about this yesterday, but only got some basic info so I didn't feel like I had enough info to call her stupid yet. fairygothmoth3r supplied me with the above story that turns her into pure cannon fodder for my ranting enjoyment

That is a sad tragidy but yes common sense does play a part here. She may have been fine if she'd just paid attention to how close to the tracks she was and if she'd moved away say 3ft from the she may have been fine as long as the wind didn't suck her under. And yes if you are deaf you have to rely on your eyes so much more so why was she walking and texting at the same time rather than looking for a train or traffic and what-have-you. Poor girl.
