Riding in cars with boys, part deux...

Not sure how I feel about this, but Erika's happiness is so "out there," it's almost always contagious. Apparently, the date was a great success. In typical Erika fashion she galloped around the house like a leggy little colt who feels his oats, hugged herself in the middle of the livingroom and said with that irresistible grin, "Oh, Momma, he's ( Read more... )

I think so, yes. She's got it pretty bad, but then again, things turn on a dime at this age. The upshot is that he's a great kid, and treats her with respect.

That's so sweet. We haven't had to deal with the formal "date" situation yet, although there was a mutual liking each other that happened far too soon for my comfort. Luckily, she realized he was a turd and hasn't been all that interested in more than having a crush since.

Oh, SOOO much with the icon love! I've meant to remark on it before. Turdy boys are a dime-a-dozen these days, and Erika definitely has no time for them. There was one close call where she liked a kid who liked her back, but when he found out that all she wanted to do was talk, it ended way before a date of any sort could be established.

Ain't it just? You should have seen her. Positively gushing. "We talked about everything, and he likes Phantom of the Opera, and he LOVED Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and we both liked Cyrano de Bergerac, and we're gonna sing a duet for solo/ensemble next year, and can I get a spiral perm for prom?"

That girl is definitely a mitzvah. A high-maintenance mitzvah, but a mitzvah nonetheless.

Either they really ARE perfect for each other, and you may as well start looking around for wedding venues to book 5-10 years in advance, or he's a creepy stalker who knows all her interests and is wooing her with them.

Freaked yet? ;o) I think it's very adorable that her first guy guy is a sweetie who knows how to treat her.

*hugs* *holds your hand*
