I realized, as I logged on to LJ at lunch, that I have been absent for a good long while. Sorry, everyone. I'm still alive. In fact, I've got a little too much "life" on my plate to be a good flister sister ( Read more... )

Ya got THAT right!!! There's a lot to be said for teh pretty. It's been ages since I've put on something spangly with earrings down to there and stood in a spotlight. It's good for the soul...well, at least the attention ho's soul.

a happy one with a song in her heart

I think it's fanastic. :) Considering my earlier post (about the co-worker who had a heart attack and died while driving home from work last Friday), knowing someone else has a happy heart full of song is the best news.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that my 27-year-old SiL's recurrance of cervical cancer had a lot to do with my "seize the day" attitude. I missed the theater SO much, and I didn't realize how much until I got back into it...almost as though I'd lost an important part of myself for the last three years. And for what? Everyone else's convenience. Hang it. They can look after themselves for a few weeks, and they don't seem to mind it much, either.

As long as you're doing something you love, with the goal of making you and those around you happy, then it's definitely not idiotic.

Idiotic is partaking in activities that drain and drown us, which you're good at recognising and all is well :o)

You know, that's a good observation because my family just told me the other night at dinner that I seem more "myself" than I've been for awhile. I missed it more than I thought I did. Just remind me of this conversation in about two weeks when we start working with the set and the orchestra and I'm exhausted beyond belief and the whole thing seems doomed to dismal failure.
