I am so sorry about your son. I've run into the same problem with a couple of my (what I hoped to have been) returning student employees. None of their financial statuses have changed and yet they lost their work-study and their aid was cut dramatically. It makes me sick to my heart to hear this. Of all things, education should be the top priority for the government to help finance. And yet everyone is getting cut to bare minimum. Two of my students said unless they can find hidden money somewhere, they're not coming back to school this year.
So I feel for your son, I really do. And for you because I know this hurts.
*hugs* Let's hope there's a silver lining lurking somewhere that we're all just missing!
Oh, Mary, I'm sorry to hear this about Luke. Is there a community college or something similar he could commute to while working and living at home? If he can tackle some of his gen ed requirements and earn some money, maybe he'll be able to return full-time next year. He's young and resilient, so the main thing is not to let him lose hope (you either). *hugs*

Maybe there will be some wild cataloging parties.
I'm so sorry about Luke. Is there any way he can take a page from your book and take an online class to keep his hand in?
I'll keep you all in my prayers and hope that things get better soon. Hang in there, you awesome you!
