Today marks my first brace-free day in...let's see now...11 1/2 weeks. It's a pretty liberating feeling, let me tell you. To celebrate I got all dressed up in a skirt and straightened my hair. Walking out in the quad today heading to work, I saw a little table set up with baskets and easter eggs and cheerfully smiling girls standing behind the table. As I was walking by, I heard them call to someone, "You look like you need Jesus in your life today!" Ah the south, I love it. I successfully made it through my surgery last week. Apparently everything went just as it should have, and although I don't exactly feel great these days, things are going fine I guess. I think I'm the most perverse person in the world sometimes. I don't even mean to be, really, but sometimes things just happen. Like, for example, last week the doctors mentioned sort of off-handedly that if I get sick right before my surgery it might have to be post-poned.
