A friend of mine has forwarded me this email, just thought you all might like to read it. I am sure most of you will not be surprised by it. It is from Senator Allen of Va regarding the marriage bill going before the senate later this month ( Read more... )

I sent off an email to Senator Allen. I blasted him for wanting to instill discrimination in the Constitution. I got a response back from his office. It was the same exact email listed above. Which means he isn't even bothering to have his staff look over emails to see what they have to say. So much for Senator (close minded, right wing bigot) Allen.

I would love to see a politician get away with this in Florida. Its an interesting demographic here. You have the retired old people with gay, ts, lesbian or whatever children, and most of them wont go against their own blood. On the other side....I know too many stories of marriages that lasted 20 years and then one of them decides that the life they have been living is a lie, leave their partner and children, and live how they want to. I'm glad (hopefully?) that you are refusing, for the most part, to live that. I respect that a lot and I want you to know that.

Ahhhh, yes you have just got to love that explaination...." common sense definition of marriage in law as only a legal
union between one man and one woman". All of my lawyer friends had a fit when I showed them that email.....We agreed that if every law was open to "a common sense interpretation" our legal system would be in shambles.

Hmmmm, common sense says that if no cars are coming....I can just drive through red traffic lights. (simple but effective analogy)

Sweet, hey do any of your lawyer friends want a red head secretary :-). Yeah I thought it was pretty stupid, I am glad my friend forwarded it to me. I find it so humorous how basackwards the south is in most respects.

Smiles and hugs,
