A day and a half after disappearing, Luna Lovegood reappears not by magic, but having walked back from the other side of the island with three other people. As she understands it, it's just part of the strangeness that is the island, and not really that malicious. He was well beyond the point of being able to pretend he didn't care about her absence. He'd spent most of the last day and a half in the compound, pacing and sulking and glaring up a storm, toeing the line of finally breaking down and venturing into the jungle to look for her himself. Draco was not a hero. It would not have been a heroic act. He would have torn the entire jungle apart with his bare hands until he found her, just to tell her what a horrible cow she was for leaving in the first place.

Luckily, he was spared all this.

By some coincidence, he was in the hall when she stepped through the door. He froze, watching as she slipped out of her shoes and dripped onto polish concrete. He watched and waited for his feet to unstick themselves from the floor.

Luna thinks twice about twisting the excess water from her dress, and tries smoothing the soaked fabric instead. She looks up, and her lips part in surprise.

"Draco?"

Ignoring the little trail of water pooling up behind her, she walks right up to him, stopping only inches away, her eyes wider than ever. Her hands come up, resting only millimeters from his shoulders. "I'm so glad to see you," she breathes.

For a moment or two, all he could do was look at her, the two of them hovering inches apart from touching. Finally, he muttered, "You're dripping all over the floor," as if stating the obvious was his only course of action.

"What on earth did you do? Swim here?"

"It's raining," she tells him, and then, still dripping wet, closes the gap and throws her shivering arms around him. "It's been raining forever, haven't you noticed?"
