Alright, guys, so I realize I've been a bit off-and-on MIA for a while now, and I feel bad about it. But I thought I'd make a progress post so you all know that I am actually working on things and can see what those things actually are. So, here we go.
Getting Back to Real (YooMin, JaeHoSu): Ohmygosh, sooooo~~~~~ frustrating right now. I'm about halfway done with Chap 4 so far. Overall, I know where the story needs to go; I'm just having a bit of trouble getting there from where I am now. It's driving me pretty crazy, actually. Hopefully I can force something out soon... :/
Preview: The "house" they'd built is still the same: the rooms and the furniture and the colors. A haze settles over it, though - the edges of everything fuzzy and undefined. Only Yoochun, standing in the fog of his surroundings, is clear and focused in Changmin's sight.
Yoochun, who rushes over and envelops Changmin in a bone-crushing hug without thought. Changmin tenses, raising his hands to push Yoochun away. Instead, he takes a deep breath, rests his hands on Yoochun's chest, and forces himself to relax. Breathing in the familiar scent, he allows Yoochun's natural sweet-spiciness to soothe his fraying (already long past frayed, really) nerves.
For his part, Yoochun simply runs his hand through Min's soft hair and relishes the moment. "I can't believe you're actually here," he breathes out after a moment.
Changmin pushes back, not enough to break free from the embrace but to allow himself just enough distance to look around. "What happened here? Why is it so…?"
"Faded?" Yoochun supplies. "I'm not sure. I think, though, that since it was built by both of us, it needed both to maintain it. With only one of use here, it slowly just became… not. Or not as much, at least." With one look at Changmin's guilt-ridden, disappointed face, he continues, "I'm sure it'll be back in full form in no time. It's already starting to lighten up a bit." He smiles reassurance, and Changmin can't repress his own small smile in return.
Worst. Ghost. Ever. (MinSu): This is a super-cute (so far...) one-shot I'm writing. Su is the ghost in the title, and Min is the boy he haunts. Probably won't go for a full romantic relationship for them, simply because the complications of Su being a ghost while Min is not would quickly turn this into a fairly angsty piece. I'm trying to keep it as light-hearted, fun, and fluffy as possible, so we'll see how it goes. Currently trying to think up some ghostly mishaps for poor, sweet Susu, so feel free to leave suggestions in a comment if you have any ideas. ^_^
Preview: “H- hi,” Changmin hears stuttered at his back. “I’m Junsu, and I’m kinda new around here, and they told me I’m supposed to haunt this place but I’m not really sure how yet so I thought I could just kinda hang out for a while and I wasn’t expecting you to wake up but I guess your hinges need some oiling ‘cause they kinda squeaked a bit and… yeah. I’m sorry?”
Changmin waves a hand in the air, whether in acceptance of the apology or just to shut the kid up he’s not really sure. Either way, Junsu stops speaking. The ‘whoosh’ of air and the familiar creak of his computer chair tells Changmin the boy has also made himself comfortable. And that’s the last coherent thought Changmin can remember when he wakes up in the morning.
Being. (JaeMin, HoSu, YooVyn): Only had one person enter my naming "contest"... T__T But congrats anyway to
changmin_amour. And thanks for helping~! ^_^ So, with that out of the way. Currently planned next part will be the 3rd pairing, HoSu, and based on Pink's song
"I Don't Believe You". Takes place shortly after the lawsuit/split. No preview for this one yet, because it's still just in the conception stages.
As-Yet-Untitled Vampire Fic (YooMin): Originally started for a YooMin comm contest last Halloween, but then I had to drop out since the process of getting ready to move to Korea kinda ate all my time. Don't have a whole lot written yet, but it's getting there. Note: Min cusses a lot. And has a nearly-personal vendetta against Twilight. *shrugs*
Preview: Fact: We need blood to survive. Not a lot, and we don’t have to kill the person we drink from, but it is necessary to our survival. We will waste away and starve to death without it, no matter how much regular food we eat in its place. Which leads us directly into…
Myth: We can’t eat regular food. Food is yummy; we like it a lot. And, just like blood, we will die without it. Not quite as quickly as without blood, but it’ll still happen. And garlic is delicious, just to clear up that B.S. while we’re at it.
The biggest lesson you can learn from all this? We’re not the vampires of your teeny-bopper fangirl fantasies. Fucking Twilight. Christopher Pike was closer. Look it up.
Junsu Demon Fic: After watching the "Tarantallegra" MV (both versions) over and over (and over and over and over and *coughs*), this idea came to me. Very (very) basically, Junsu is a demon king of a kingdom that's been destroyed by war, fire, and famine. Tentative pairings as of right now are JunChun, HoHo, and JaeMinHwan. We'll see how it goes.
Preview: Junsu's kingdom had been peaceful and prosperous for many years. Despite initial concerns over how young he was when he first inherited the throne, Junsu proved to be a strong yet kind and fair ruler.
One year, a neighboring kingdom experienced a draught. That one year turned into another then another until, in desperation, they invaded Junsu's kingdom. They were harsh and merciless warriors who enslaved or slaughtered every city/town they came across. As more people died, the earth started to die as well. Fires set by the raiders burned constantly, unable to be extinguished, and ash covered the land like snow.
Junsu did everything he could think of to save his people and the land, but an underlying cause meant that all of his efforts were in vain. As the damage and his own helplessness increased, so too did Junsu's detachment and withdrawal from the world. His only current contact with the world outside his palace grounds comes from the reports of his elite army commanders - Yunho and Changmin - and Jaejoong, a trusted ally despite being shrouded in mystery.
In contrast, Yoochun is a relatively young commoner whose short life has already been plagued by difficulties. At the tender age of 17 , his mother died while giving birth to his younger brother Yoohwan. Since his father worked long hours to support the family, the task of raising Yoohwan fell on Yoochun. These circumstances led to a strong than normal bond between the two brothers; Yoochun was incredibly overprotective, while Yoohwan viewed Yoochun as more of a parent than their actual father.
Years later, the brothers' village is one of the first to be raided by the invading armies. Yoochun and Yoohwan become separated in the ensuing chaos. Yoochun escapes with a small group of survivors into the woods around the village, where they eventually became a guerilla resistance force. Yoochun finds out only days after his own escape that Yoohwan was captured and enslaved as a house servant to a high-ranking officer's family.
In servitude, Yoohwan was treated little better than an animal. He would be locked inside a small cage every night or anytime they would have to leave him in the house alone, and they beat him for even the smallest indiscretion. Years later, Yoochun was finally able to free him during one of his resistance missions. Unfortunately, the broken boy is no longer the baby brother Yoochun remembered.
Only days after, while Yoohwan was still physically recovering - not to mention mentally - from his ordeal, the invaders discovered the hideout. Yoochun took Yoohwan and escaped into the wilderness. They wandered for days, foraging for food and taking water from the small streams throughout the forest. After almost a week, the woods tapered off into a dry, barren wasteland. They decided to take their chances and set off across the desert.
Meanwhile, Yunho and Changmin's unit were tracking a band of pillagers across the burnt-out landscape surrounding the palace. When they finally catch up to the group, the criminals have surrounded and attacked a pair of exhausted young demons.
And this is where their story begins…
When You Fall (YunChun): Angst, tragedy, angst, angst, tragedy, and angst. This is gonna be a tough one. Yet another one that I have all plotted out but haven't started actually writing yet. Will be a one-shot, though probably quite long.
Preview: Love and other moments are just
Chemical reactions in your brain
In your brain
And feelings of aggression are the
Absence of the love drug in your veins
In your veins
Love come quickly
Because I feel my self-esteem is caving in
It's on the brink
Love come quickly
Because I don't think I can keep this monster in
It's in my skin
Love and other socially
Acceptable emotions are morphine
They're morphine
Cleverly concealing primal urges
Often felt but rarely seen
Rarely seen
Love I beg you
Lift me up into that privileged point of view
The world of two
Love don't leave me
Because I console myself that Hallmark cards are true
I really do
I'm gunning down romance
It never did a thing for me
But heartache and misery
Ain't nothing but a tragedy
Love don't leave me
Take these broken wings
I'm going to take these broken wings
And learn to fly
And learn to fly away
And learn to fly away

Possession/Falling (JaeMin): . . . *sighs* Yes, you read that right. Another bonus. You can blame
kratynoi and Min's recent atrocious fashion sense. I'm beginning to think this will be the Highlander of my fics; in the end, there can be only one... -_-
Preview: "You will have to make several large sacrifices on the altar of the fashion gods to just get back to 'okay' again."
"So this is an intervention?"
"Oh, no. You're far passed intervention stage. This is removal and destruction. And more the second than the first, really."
"... I may have to kill you."
Aaaaaand~~~~ That's it. Finally. So now y'all are all updated and know what's going on in my little land o' writing. Leave your comments and let me know what you think, 'kay? ^_^
