This is my first try at sentinel fanfiction though I've been reading it for ages. Just a simple, short story.
I'd be grateful for any comments, critics or even if you could point out any typos to me so that I can correct them.

Aww, such a bittersweet thing, the end of something great but the beginning of a new stage of their life at the same time. :-) I like how you left open why they resigned but put in enough that we can see they worked successfully for years and those years had been good. :-)

Every reader can come up with her own idea on why they resign now, something I like very much. My take on it: this takes place not very long after Jim made captain and the guys couldn't work as partners anymore because of Jim's promotion. They tried but both weren't quite satisfied with the situation (hence Simon "had seen it coming for months") and when Blair was seriously hurt in the field one day (with Jim being stuck in a meeting or so), it was the straw that broke the camel's back. *g*

But no matter what the "real" reason for the resignation is supposed to be, I just like this short story. :-)

Hi!

I am very glad you like it. I wasn't sure about the length, that it might have been too vague. But as you said, this way everybody can have his or her own idea about what happened.
That they would resign after Jim makes Captain does make sense, doesn't it. I mean firstly and foremost Sentinel and Guide are partners. Love your take on it.
And this way Megan and the others can be happy for the boys because now they can be together again, in whatever they decide to do with the rest of their lives. :D

LOL, ich wollte schon immer mal bei irgendwas die Erste sein. ;-)

Freut mich, dass dir die Idee gefällt. Drängt sich ja förmlich auf, wie du schon gesagt hast, Sentinel und Gefährte sind zuallerst mal Partner. :-)

Hallo, PatK hat mich hierhergelinkt. *g* Schade, dass es mit dem Chat nicht geklappt hat. Ich war auch kurz drin, dann wieder draußen, dann konnte ich nichts mehr eingeben ... argh.

Zu deiner Story: Mir hat sie wirklich gut gefallen. Ich mag solche kurze Geschichten die trotzdem eine Menge aussagen.

This was no end. It was a beginning.
Schöner Satz. Auch wenn ihr Leben als Cops vorbei ist, ist es nicht ein Ende - gut, irgendwie schon *g* - aber doch auch der Anfang eines anderen Lebens. Und das Wichtigste ist, dass sie zusammen sind.

Ja, bin leider auch schon wieder draußen. Das ist schon frustrierend. Vielleicht haben wir nächstes mal mehr Glück.

Es freut mich sehr, dass sie dir gefallen hat! Mir gefällt der Gedanke, dass sie trotzdem noch zusammen sind, auch wenn sie keine cops mehr sind. Und jetzt können sie gemeinsam entscheiden, was sie mit dem Rest ihres Lebens gemeinsam anfangen. *gg* Da fällt ihnen bestimmt was ein. lol
