I'm ready for someone to not be swayed to Klaus' side.
Yes, I am very much looking forward to the fallout of Klaus going back on his word to Elijah in S2. That's one of Elijah's pet peeves, so.
Also, LOL--Meredith is so True Blood! Drain the vamps for their magical blood!
IKR, cannot unsee. For some reason, I'm finding it hard to believe Mer's nice act completely! "Sedating random vampires to steal a syringe of blood" can't be all there was to her ex's freak out. Something tells me Damon was in luck being on vervain & taking so soon to wake up...
I'm sorry you were spoiled! That must have taken some of the fun out of it. But--
ELIJAH IS THE KING OF FLAWLESS ENTRANCES.
HE SO IS. I may have screamed at my tv set. Just a little bit. *g*
Maybe I am weird, but I've never minded when Damon and Elena have no/few shared scenes. SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE, and all that! Plus, as you said, they can get in some individual character development. Always nice.
I am glad that the road trip was Elena & Bonnie's only because they really needed that friend time
I completely agree. I'm so glad we're getting more frienship scenes amongst the girls this season, after having a shortage of that for a while.
Re: Abby- Yeah... I find her interesting as a character and I want to see more of her, but I'm not sure what to think of her as a person just yet. That said, I didn't get the impression that she wanted to leave Bonnie, just that she wanted to leave her old life behind...and maybe if she'd gone back for Bonnie she would have felt obliged to stay and go back to being her old self, and it

YOU'RE NOT ALONE. I love how he was all, "This shit is blocking my view", and that was the end of Random Hybrid #71.

I'm usually more aware of the fact, ngl, even though I like when my shows don't rush into things, but this episode had a really great way of making up for it in other ways, so it didn't take away from my enjoyment of it!

I guess I expected a more elaborate reason of why she suddenly wanted to leave Mystic Falls so badly she didn't even come back for her daughter? As of now, it doesn't really make sense to me. But then again, not all parents leave their kids for some noble reasons, some just

Oh, not at all, bb. I merely pointed out how my judgment of her might have been clouded in the first place, and that objectively speaking, we do need more scenes with her before making any sort of conclusions.
Lol I *love* your post! I'd quote the whole thing if I could but here is just one part:
Which brings us to the second reason - at least to me, it seemed like Stefan's punch was more about Elena genuinely reciprocating Damon's feelings than about Damon choosing to be straightfoward with Elena in Stefan's absence.
It was really nice to seeing someone else see what I saw in the Stefan/Elena scene so completely -- except, I was more 'you're a jerky, hypocritical selfish ass, STEFAN!' than were you. :)
Yeah, I don't think Bill's a good guy. Sorry, no.
I wasn't thrilled with this episode. It was written by the same guy who wrote "Distubring Behavior" and that was fairly evident. He's just a very heavy-handed writer, that natural, light touch that TVD usually has ... doesn't under him.
I was spoiled too by people not using cuts on LJ. I was very peeved. :(

I'm glad to know we're on the same wavelength here! Tbh, I think I've exhausted all my Stefan feelings of this kind last week (haven't felt this miserable so long post-ep since we found out the truth about Lexi), so it probably numbed me down a little for whatever was coming this ep. I'm looking forward to reading your review, as usual!
Yeah, I don't think Bill's a good guy. Sorry, no.
Dude rubs me the wrong way so much, idek. I can't shake the feeling he WILL initiate that war against the vampires in Mystic Falls eventually, making the history repeat itself.
I wasn't thrilled with this episode.Yeah, it wasn't one of this season's best, which is why they played the Elijah card in the end to redeem it. Come to think of it, the overall feel of the ep is probably what made Elijah's entrance that much more epic

Ooh, I didn't even think of that. Noooooooooooo!
another thing I liked about the episode is the Damon/Alaric bromance suddenly coming back in full force, and Damon trying to figure out what Mer is up to for his bro.Ah, we differ here because while I loved Damon's end, Alaric is getting on my last nerve. I just haven't felt any affection through the snark. All of their interaction since the show came back has played as if Ric is merely tolerating Damon's company and that's really frustrating. Especially when if Ric is holding the neck-snap against Damon, it still pisses me off because as bad as that was, it doesn't negate the fact that Ric was a TOTAL DICK to Damon prior for no fault of Damon's! And there's not even been no apology, but no hint that Ric was wrong

I couldn't get the idea out of my head ever since he first came to town with his anti-vampire stance. I almost jumped in my seat when I saw him emerge in this episode, lol.

It's funny because I was initially the one deeply ~offended by Alaric's behaviour when the show came back, but now it seems this new dynamic isn't going anywhere, so I'm just learning to live with the vicious snark, I guess. IA with you regarding that massive chip on Ric's shoulder that just won't die - the way I see it, they just need to throw some punches & get it over with (#1 way of dealing with brother issues on TVD), but Ric might think Damon is trying to "murder" him again. SIGH. In terms of this episode, I actually didn't find it odd at all that Alaric didn't want Damon to get up in his biz with Meredith - they're guys, after all, and Ric doesn't want to seem like a damsel in distress - but what struck me as very

Let's hope Elijah is Very Angry and not inclined to be forgiving. I'm ready for someone to not be swayed to Klaus' side.

Re Abby, if I struck a nerve I'm sorry. I don't mean that what she did was right; I'm just trying to get into her head.

Violence: #1 vampire way of dealing with feelings. At least there was no stabbing involved in this family row!
