I have never seen the movie but I've loved books long enough to know that they are ALWAYS better than the movie ;) His Dark Materials has been on my to-read list for a while... hopefully I'll read them soon!

Thanks bb :)

I REALLY enjoyed the first three books of the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead (I haven't bought the fourth yet). To be completely honest, I was put off by the series name at first. I thought, "Vampire Academy? Really?!" I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it though. Rose is fierce as hell and the last book took a really unexpected turn.

I also enjoyed the Gemma Doyle series by Libba Bray. The writing is amazing and I give her major praise for what she did at the end of the series.

I was thinking about giving that series a try but I wasn't sure... I think I thought the same thing you did lol ;) But I trust your judgement, so I'll pick up the first one at work soon.

And the Gemma Doyle series! I've been wanting to read that for ages... *sighs* it's a blessing and a curse, working at a book store! lol

I went right into the Sookie Stackhouse Series after Twilight. Love them to death. And I guess I don't have to tell you what I think about TMI.

I don't know if you've read Blood Ties. I read the first two books during the last two months. I really liked them. And as far as I know there'll be a third book in a couple of weeks.

Blood Ties.... who is the author of that series? For some reason I was thinking de la Cruz but that's the Blue Bloods series... lol all these vampire books! Get me all confused! I've worked in a bookstore for 6 years and I can't keep this stuff straight! lol

Monica, I got most of my initial recs from you so seeing you in this comm makes me squuuuuueeeee with joy <3 Evernight is on my list... I was drawn to The Tear Collector first for some reason, so maybe that will go fast.

And the Wake series is REALLY starting to catch on. Seriously, we just got in about 40 copies of it today and we never carry more than 10 or so. All these things to read and no time to read them in! LOL
