The fast has been wonderful so far and i've only been fasting a few days. i keep thinking about how free i feel now.  it's amazing how restriction can be so liberating. i think it has something to do with self-discipline and detachment. being less attached to food i can focus more on spirituality.. which is the true freedom.   Fasting is really

Fasting is a good way to overcome the illusion of need, which is the most powerful - it is the illusion upon which all other illusions are based, like dominoes - once that falls, all others will fall too.

Coincidentally, your poem is also a good illustration of overcoming the illusion of need - you need nothing because you ARE that which you seek - whatever you seek, you are It. And whatever you 'need', you can give it to yourself - thus, you need nothing.

I actually don't see this as a sad poem at all - I see it as very hopeful, as very powerful - amazing how the Voice within us gives us its Wisdom when we least expect it. Poetry is a good way to access that Source, that Voice - especially if written after doing meditation.
