Ooooh, that sounds good! Admittedly it's not something I'd pick up at the library, despite loving Alice in Wonderland (perhaps because of that), but I will keep it in mind, now :3.

I think (knowing what I know now) the biggest thing that would put me off from reading it would not be the Alice references (or lack there of) but the amount of high fantasy. I'm not a big high fantasy fan because writers often take what they write too seriously (and I really can't take hobbits and fairies seriously) but I found the high fantasy level managable because it was more about strange lands and made up inventions than short people with hairy feet XD
