Lemme tell you that when you see your floor of your hallway doing "the worm" (as in rolling toward you like a wave)...that shit is freaky at 4am.
I'm just curious what faults there are in the Midwest. The quake really had to be bigger than a 2.0 for St. Louis to feel it, though. 1 and 2s happen in So Cal all the time, and you're lucky if the next town over feels them.
its a big one near the mississippi. its just not very active, but we have a really minor one about 5 years ago. this one was close to st louis and ranked at somewhere around a 5 or 6 on the scale which is why aftershocks traveled that far north to downtown chicago

We feel a lot of the bigger quakes that So Cal gets in Vegas. Of course they happen mostly at the ass crack of dawn.
