So, looks like I might just be bumping up my trip to London. I was originally planning on March because a friend and I were planning to go to Mexico over winter break. But since she's still unemployed it looks like that plan is all but tossed. It still might happen but every day the chance dwindles even more

You'll find that Christmas is often a bigger event in Europe than it is in the US. We all have our local traditions, but there's no Thanksgiving to partition Christmas as a specifically religious holiday.

If you go to Munich, you'll have fun wandering around some huge Christmas Markets; whereas Dublin will be rocking all December:

Europe doesn't tend to have as harsh winters as the northern US. Having said that, the European continent (as opposed to Ireland or Great Britain) can have a few feet of snow lasting for weeks or months. You'll find Ireland and Great Britain to be usually rainier and milder.

Wow, thanks!! Those sites are really helpful. I don't want to impose on anyone for the couple days around Christmas. So having some things to do would be awesome. Dublin might just be where I head. I've seen Munich and Bavaria is probably going to have a lot of snow in December.
