thumbed my way over to gilroy within a few hours yesterday. lost my tent poles running after a late-braking lift. looked up a hostel online and eventually* found it in the city without the rooms it claimed it had on the internet availability chart

James, I'm having so many Ireland memories come rushing back as you talk. Those directions are exactly the kind we always got. The worst were when we were trying to get to our B&B from the airport and it took us a couple hours to drive about 10 mi., stopping for directions at least three times. And did you notice how in Dublin the same street can have seven different names in about that many blocks?

You do look Spanish, actually.

I can't believe you thought you would travel Ireland without drinking any of their beer - glad you gave up that nonsense (and Smithwick's is much better IN Ireland by the way) - and I knew you would make it to the cliffs. Please just be reasonable and get down on your hands and knees to look over the edge like all the rest of us.
