summary; There are so many things that have to be left unexplained. But what makes them unexplainable?
From the perspective of an eagle's eye, it was a breathtaking sight. The way the mountain had seemingly split into half, a clear stream that shimmered like little trains of pearls dividing the green land so precisely that it fit like a jigsaw puzzle. Every jagged end on either piece of land seemed to line across with an in-turn of the exact same shape on the other. Scientists and geologists had cracked their heads, applying every ounce of their knowledge to form all sorts of theories that could explain the bizarre ways of that cracked mountain, that oh so precise shape of lands - too detailed and flawless to be made of man, or to be formed by any form of natural disasters. "It's definitely God's work", one of them had said, letting out an airy laugh as he wrote the final line of his report, regarding the landscape as a dead end in their field of work. He had wrote; "It's something merely unexplainable in scientific terms. Therefore, we have decided to let God and his nature hold the longer end on this one, and close the investigations on this exquisite piece of land. Science can only go so far."

Kyuhyun sat at a table outside a little cafe and flipped through the papers, stopping at the page that carried the report written by that one scientist. "About time." he had said, a small smirk spreading across his lips. He had always hated those men coming onto his village land with their oval shaped glasses hanging daintily on the bridge of their noses, large piles of books in their hands, another whole army of men in black suits trailing behind them, scraping at the moss and dirt off every single tree they passed by, collecting small samples of water from the stream into little test tubes. It was all a bunch of shit in his opinion. He would usually stand casually by the tall rocks on the other side of the mountain, watching them as they scurried along on and off their little metal boats. They never saw him. They couldn't anyway, and even if they did catch him at the corner of their eye for a split second, he wouldn't be there in the next, and he would simply be regarded as a feeble fragment of their imagination. He had always liked the fact that he could be superior to them in that sense. Sure, they had the million dollar education, the power and authority hanging off every scientific term that slid off their tongue.
But they were merely the most normal form of humans.
"Where'd you get that from?" Kyuhyun threw a glance towards the boy walking towards him. "One of those guys dropped it by the stream." he answered lightly as the boy took the newspaper from his hand and eyed it carefully, flipping the pages one by one and scrutinizing every little crinkle and blotch of ink. "It's called a newspaper, Donghae." he chuckled. "Sure as fuck didn't know that." Donghae snapped back, rolling his eyes. Kyuhyun simply laughed, got up from his seat and started off along the street, suddenly paying attention to every single detail in his little town. It amazed him when he came to think about it, how similar it looked to any other town in the world. How similar he looked to any other normal person in the world. How similar everything seemed to be, yet how completely different everything actually was. Two different worlds. I'm just from a different world.
With all this playing in his mind, he didn't realize that Donghae was talking to him until the latter smack his head hard. "Son of a bitch!" Kyuhyun cursed, one hand gripping the back of his head and the other trying to grab Donghae as the boy laughed and jumped away, spiralling in little circles. "It's your fault for not listening to me. Why are you so fucking distracted today anyway?" He simply shrugged as an answer to Donghae's question. He honestly didn't know why himself. "I'll catch up with you later okay?" "Holy shit Kyu, you're leaving me again? Some best friend you are, I don't even know why I like you to be quite fucking honest." Donghae sneered, bumping into Kyuhyun as he walked ahead of him, grumbling as he kept his eyes on the ground. Kyuhyun laughed and jogged towards him, wrapping his arms around the shorter boy's neck. "Who doesn't?" he replied back.

All the years of practice had made it easy for him to climb up the jagged rocks leading up to the only flat platform at the very top of the mountain. His bangs stuck onto his sweaty forehead in thick locks and he casually swept them aside with the tips of his fingers. The sky seems a little brighter today. He took a quick leap off the last rock and swung his legs onto the little bare piece of land that he liked to call his. His belongings were neatly arranged in their positions; a nice little deckchair in the middle of the platform, some books scattered on a mat, a pillow and a tiny quilt that he usually wrapped himself in when he couldn't get down by the time the cold winds came in. It amazed him how nobody seemed to notice this little platform 1347 feet above the ground. It was the first thing he noticed when he first found himself here.
He brought his deckchair closer to edge - his fear of heights seemed to have disappeared as time flew by. It seemed almost like magic. Then again, he wasn't surprised - and peered out atop the messy collisions of large oaks and angry veins, and landed his eyes onto the other side if the stream, at the opposite side of his village; onto the West Side.
East Siders like himself were forbidden to set their foot onto the land at the West Side. The uncanny rivalry between the East Siders and the West Siders was something he could never quite understand. Not like he really cared anyway. He liked the whole idea of climbing onto this high platform every evening and simply observing the villagers on the other side scurry about doing whatever they were doing - another reason why he liked being who he was, he could see everything, despite being 1347 feet in the air - Nobody knew about what he's been doing all these years, not even Donghae, and he intended on keeping it that way. He liked how there was an element of danger in what he did, that it was something nobody dared to do because they were all engulfed in fear. What's there to be afraid of?
By now he had already found most of the villagers at the West End as a part of his daily life, and he had no problem recognizing and describing almost every single one of them. Well, only the ones who deserved his time in the first place of course. There was the baker, a plump man with a beat red face. He carried some extra baggage in the middle, and his slightly too-small-a-fit baker's coat emphasized the roundness of his belly almost too perfectly. He let his eyes drift upon the tray of freshly baked goods in his hands. He had always wanted to try one of those golden brown pastries, baked to utter perfection, with little trails of sweet aroma staining the air around them. He wondered why there were no bakeries in his village. Then again, there aren't any meat houses at the West End. His gaze fell onto the village librarian. An old woman, her hair wearing a faded shade of grey and always worn up in a bun, her eyes hidden by wrinkled flesh whenever she smiled. She was wearing her pink tie-dyed floral cardigan. He had always liked that on her, and always found it odd how she rarely wore it that often. It made her look 50 years younger in his opinion. Scratch that, 80.
His eyes drifted upon the large oak door of the library, gentle engravings twirling on it's brass plates, and watched as it swung open. The old lady walked out, her eyes completely buried in wrinkled flesh as he saw her with the biggest smile that he had ever seen her with. She looked behind her and started talking, while doing gestures to whoever she was talking to, gesturing the person to walk out. Kyuhyun seemed slightly interested by this and let himself continue watching.
He found himself gaping as a tall young lady walked out of the door, smiling gently as she shook the old woman's hand. He had never seen her before, he was sure of it, and that puzzled him. His eyes never left her; long brown hair that felt in loose silky knots up to the small of her back, she was wearing a long navy blue summer dress that draped to the ankles. But what he noticed the most were her eyes, large and bright, yet they looked so confused, lost even. Maybe that was how his eyes looked when he first found himself in this place. She walked away in slow small steps as the old lady closed the door and went back inside. She was walking so slowly and so hesitantly that it was quite obvious to him that she didn't know were she was going. She just kept on walking, and at the same, on top of that high platform, Kyuhyun kept watching, slowly moving forward as he tried to continue watching her as she picked up her pace. He stopped when he found himself too close to the edge of the platform, and by then she was already out of his sight.
For the first time in what seemed like forever, Kyuhyun slept early that night. Only because he wanted to get up early tomorrow morning and go up to his little platform and wait. He didn't really care about how long it was going to take, he didn't really think through it at all. He just really needed to see her again.
