so... walkonpluto approached me and told me she might have plans to kidnap oppars and take over the world save this wasteland   that has been 2pm fics, and having been personally devastated by the drought of course i said "OMG YES". the fandom is huge but there is no fics.. and it makes me sad. ;___;

if you wanted to organise something smaller I'll definitely give it a go - if you want to start something specifically one day why not make it a rotating monthly challenge? they're low stress for mods (just post a theme once a month) and people can write it or not, so there's no real pressure for the authors.

the onedaybb crew wouldn't see a minibang or 2pm challenge fic comm as trying to hone in on their territory since they have such different word lengths, so don't feel disheartened that the sign ups came out around the same time!

its nice to know that onedaybb crew wouldnt see us as a threat even if this idea goes through, i just dont want to take people away from the bb since longfic is good. but idk for most people the 10k word count scares them -- me included. LOL.

thats what we're thinking too, maybe a smaller, more regular type of challange, but somehow the idea is now shifted to a kpopficsmeme type of comm, minus the anonymity and just for oneday writers, idk would be fun just to bond and catch up on oneday news and spazz together lol, what do you think? then we can always have random challanges there and discussions. the idea is still very new so we're looking to develop it. i think it'll be awesome :)

HI MARC!!! lol I haven't been around here for so long, I remember when I got a twitter I was like "yeah I won't move there entirely" and then...I moved there entirely, but I've been missing lj lately and I'm thinking I'll try to come back and update more frequently. maybe if I'm around here more I'll actually want to write again!

I know that 10K can seem massive but something like 3K is definitely achievable. I've modded a few things and an open challenge with no real sign ups is probably the way to go - that way you don't have to follow up with people and since it's not an exchange you don't have to worry about pinch-hits or anything like that. I hope it does take off - it'd be great to have a place to discuss liked/disliked fic tropes, characterisations and pairing interpretations, so good luck!

and didn't you do the dream high comm? you'll do fine ok, I believe in you!

ahhaha. since i have a twitter im barely here too aside from fics. haha :) maybe when we do open that comm i hope you lurk here more often kk. i hope korea is treating you right, its nearly winter here so it means its approaching summer over the right?

yeah 10K is massive. 3K for me is daunting already cos i constantly struggle producing anything thats longer than 1K lol. sad. we're still discussing but i think a writers comm is what we're looking for, and hopefully get to meet more writers friend that we all can bug to write. har har 8D and thank you, need all the luck i can get lol.
