What have you gotten us into this time, Pond?

[he looks around himself] Amy? Rory? [he sighs. this is typical] Not to worry, I'm sure you're both around here somewhere. Now it's just a matter of finding out what here might be.

[he inhales deeply] Fishy. Definitely fishy. And not entirely earth fishy either. That is probably going to be ( Read more... )

All right, all right, I'm here. Quit your shouting. [She stumbles out of an alley very close by, rubbing her ear playfully for emphasis.] So what have you gone and done now? And what's that smell? Or don't I want to know?

[he looks up from a rubbish bin, smiling at Amy and comes over and grasps her by the shoulder]

Shouting? Who was shouting? I didn't hear anyone shouting, because believe me Pond, when I'm shouting you'll know I'm shouting.

[he lets her go and spins on his heels, taking the place in]

As for the smell, I would say it's something fish-like. Definitely fish-like.

[he claps his hands together, smiling at Amy] Nothing to worry about I'm sure. Fish, Britain, the two go nearly hand in hand. So see, nothing worth worries.

[he takes in a sharp breath] Especially seeing as we have far more worrying things to worry ourselves over, haven't we?

[Amy blinks before stepping more out and checking her shoes just in case.] Yeah, definitely. So what are we doing here then? What's so important about some fishy smelling London?

Good question, Pond. Very good question in fact. And the answer is...

[a beat]

I don't know.

Come on then, off we go. I think it's time to do some investigating. You can be Watson, I can be Holmes. Lovely chap, Holmes, a bit eccentric though. And you know that's saying something coming from me.

[It's a troll! A troll in Malkuthian uniform! A very pleasant troll!] If you're looking for water, the docks are that way. [He points.] But it might be better if you don't go there. That is where the fish live.

Do they now? That's almost reassuring, I think.

I'm sorry, but is there any particular reason that you warn tourists about the fish?

They have been known to accept human sacrifices or to create monstrous immortal offspring with assorted humans. It seems a bit to handle for someone who has only just arrived.

That's not good at all. Not good at all.

Still, that narrows this down somewhat, so that's good.

It's a bit of a glass half full situation, isn't it? Well, a quarter full, perhaps? A tenth, maybe? Either way, there's something in that glass still and that is something!

And suddenly I'm thirsty. I knew I should have drank something before I left. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find something around here somewhere.

What? [hears that and tries to head over to the Doctor, but then he steps in a rather dirty bucket, the contents of which he really doesn't want to find out]

Hold on, "Mister Pond"? [finally extracts his foot and makes a face at the squishy feeling in his shoe]

Careful, careful! Try to keep away from the fish.

Sorry, what was that? Oh right, yes. Mr. Williams-Pond, is it?

Fish?

[just shakes his head, raising his hands up in a vain attempt to stop that train of thought] Never mind about that; we're still discussing it.

Where have you gotten us to this time?

By which you mean Amy has decided and you're desperately hoping she might change her mind. Either way, none of my business.

And I have gotten us to...somewhere in Victorian London. Beyond that, I haven't a clue. I love it when that happens. It never happens.

It's very exciting, we could stumble onto anything!
