Tutorial #16: Mort Rainey

Alrighty, today a tutorial with Mort Rainey (Johnny Depp in Secret Window) =)

Made in Photoshop 7.0, but it is easy translatable.

I used this pic.

Step 1:
Crop, resize and sharpen once.



Step 2:
Duplicate your base and set it to Screen 50%



Step 3:
Create a new layer, floodfill it with #6FFFFA and set it to Color Burn 30%



Step 4:
Create a new layer, floodfill it with #F9FF9E and set it to Color Burn 52%



Step 5:
Add a Color Balance layer (Layer >> New Adjustment Layer >> Color Balance) and use the following settings:
Midtones: +36    -20    +18



Step 6:
Duplicate your base, drag it to the top, desaturate (Shift+CTRL+U) and set it to Soft Light 100%



Step 7:
Duplicate your base again, drag it to the top and set it to Overlay 32%



Step 8:
Take a soft round brush at 55 px, set a red (#FF0000) blob somewhere on your icon and set it to Screen 100%



Step 9:
Add your text, I wrote 'what!?' with the font Carnevalee Freakshow at 10 pt.
