Firstly, I really really never thought i'd say this, but the sound at the Royal Albert Hall if you are down the front standing, is really really fucking shit!  friday night was maximo park through cotton wool because they dont actually have any speakers directed towards the floor - just up to the gods.  which , yeah, not good.  and leads to those

That really sucks - the sound at the front, obviously. Nothing more annoying than poor sounds quality fucking up a really good gig. Must see Maximo Park again. Also - SEVENTY FIVE QUID for a Snow Patrol ticket? Eeek. Well, like you said at least paying less now pays off!

that eeking sound you made? yeah, i did exactly the same, very loudly and at work, and nearly fell off me chair when the tickets went on sale! twas just getting greedy, and i didnt not approve!

and yes, go see maximo. they are doing eu tour this month - you might get lucky!

Greedy indeed. Oh dear, Maxio are playing Paradiso this Thursday... that doesn't really comply with the 'no more spending money till next pay policy' I had just adopted... Then again I don't need time off and I love Paradiso...

Also - I am so enjoying Yeah Yeah Yeah's last - that I just got. Am I right in thinking you like them? xx

im not a huge fan, but do like them yeah. they were v good at glasto this year (sounded good anyway, i'd run out of energy by that stage and was only just capable of staying awake flat out on the ground, let alone standing up right!)

Bad sound can really ruin an otherwise perfect gig... shame that it happened at the RAH, I don't have the fondest memories of the Albert Hall either. Maybe it's simply overrated. :-P

Hee, I'm going to see Maximo Park the Friday after next! :-D I'm not a massive fan, but I love seeing them live, they are such an energetic and fun band to watch and I am up for some good bouncy times.

Funny, some venues just aren't made for rock music. RAH worked perfectly fine for Peter in concert, sedate (til mad stage invasion at the end, of course), but can't imagine going there for something less orchestrated, if that makes sense. Though of course you can't choose where bands elect to play, sadly. Glad you managed to get some joy out of it, though, the cup half full policy always pays off, I feel. xx
