you know, im not a catholic or anything, but thats tremendously rude. keep stuff like that to yourself. even if you dont agree with catholic dogma, he was still a person, and saying something like that when someone is dead, is really low.

If you find it so offensive, then don't read it. It's her journal, so she has the right to write whatever she damn well pleases to write, no matter how offensive. If it offends you so much, then don't read it, and bypass the entry.
heather is my friend, therefore it logically follows that she is on my friends page on lj. at this point in time there is no way to filter out posts that are offensive automatically. its true i could use a friends filter for my friends page but for the most part, what she writes is not offensive and that would be overkill. youre right, she can write whatever she wants. im not saying she cant. but i think that if a friend says something so obviously rude, one should tell the friend that they were out of line. if you think about it, im only trying to help her. if she doesnt realize how much this kind of shit can offend/hurt certain people, she might alienate people she cares about. (i say "people she cares about" because we know heather has no problem alienating people in general) i felt guilty for posting anything in the first place, i didnt want her to feel bad... but i wouldve felt worse had i said nothing at all. personally, im not offended. but i know that many people would be, and the fact that heather does not seem to have
