Thought I'd post a little bit about our fire event. It was a garage fire. It was limited to the garage only, although some smoke found its way indoors. Not really enough to cause damage, just a smell. The garage itself is intact, albeit slightly charred. Will probably need a little structural work. Oh, it gets worse. I just found out that they decided to total my car. We're at the Residence Inn.

I'm considering my options at the moment. I want to get another one. Part of me wants to get another base model, and part of me wants to go for a Boxster S. I also have heard that I get the first right to buy it back from the insurance company as a fire salvage vehicle ($500). If so, I'll probably do that and keep it for parts. The wheels alone are worth considerably more than $500, not to mention the tires, which are in great shape. I also, for the hell of it, would like to take the drive train out and drop it in the Honda. Fortunately, I got a good deal on it when I bought it originally, and the ins. company is totaling it out considerably north of what I paid for it. I plan on being patient and keeping an eye on the used Boxster supply. Who knows, with the economy the way it is, maybe there are people that need to sell at a discount.
