I saw the news footage of that last night. We're you in it (the footage of course)??
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. One version I hear was that the SUV driver tried to make the turn, knowing that a police vehicle was coming through. Another one is that the SUV was already making the turn when the police vehicle tried to pass traffic on a pursuit and hit the SUV. I'm sure the dashboard camera footage will be carefully scrutinized.
Give it about a year, and I bet the dash-cam tape will be on one of those 'caught-on-tape' shows.
I was not in the footage, but I watched the camera worker set up for her various shots. I recognized one shot where we were standing just a few feet out of range. BTW, it was totally the SUV driver's fault. He turned in front of the cop, claiming he didn't see him because of the fog. It wasn't nearly that foggy. Also, the skid marks for the cop were about 50 ft, in the left lane, and straight. The SUV, after hearing the tire screech and seeing the cop, froze. That's why he got plowed into. I see things like that all too often, where drivers freeze in situations where they really need to just keep going.
