A different New Years resolution

I, too, have tried to reduce plastic use, but it is ssssoooooooooo difficult!!!! Plastic is insidious!

You CAN find some things on the freetheocean.com website. They have plastic replacement items and other products. Also, I have found that Tom's of Main toothpaste now has a recyclable tube available.

Just a couple of ideas for making a start on your project. Have a great day and great good luck on your plastic reduction project!

Thanks for the tip. I was looking for non-plastic toothpaste tubes at the store yesterday and couldn't find one. I DID buy some Tom's toothpaste because of all the eco-friendly jargon on the package, but inside is just another plastic tube. Maybe it's recyclable plastic? Although it turns out that most plastics recycling is just wish-cycling anyway. Apparently the plastic bags that grocery stores collect is usually recycled (once) into plastic decking. And it is possible to recycle plastic film, but I'm not sure how to do that locally. It can't go in with the plastic bags - needs different machinery. But all those plastic bottles and clamshells and other plastic recycling just gets burned.

I'll check out freetheocean.com.
