Shit, I didn't know your brother was at boot camp..
Anyway, I think our world political situation is a precarious one, where buying into one party line or another is tantamount to intellectual demise. Each individual must carefully consider all the angles and where his/her own values lie. I think since situations like these are so difficult for the average schmo to sort out and assess for themselves, they end up supporting the politics of one politician or another out of sheer frustration.
