dude i'm just glad you guys are okay! the footage on the news didn't look too good. i felt the same way after we had the earthquake (not nearly comparable, but yeah) and were out of electricity for 20 hours. we had a guest staying over and were completely unprepared. we managed with candles and canned food in the incredibly hot night air, but it was quite the experience. made me realize how grossly dependent we are on technology. good learning experience.
enjoy hawaii! (of course you will :) i'm kind of a homebody but maybe we'll see you guys out and about. if not happy holidays!
ps-tell me about this pan? i'm a nerd about cooking utensils too...i'm hoping santa brings me a wustof santoku kitchen knife ; ) That or a Rancillo espresso machine...a girl can dream

i know! i kept turning the light on when going into each room! and when the electricity came on, the first thing i did was check email (so sad). i feel super bad for people in rural areas. they may be in the dark for up to 3 weeks. worst, nights have been below freezing.
insurance...dreamsincoldDecember 18 2006, 23:50:23 UTC
we still had to front 1/2 until insurance reimburses us. tree people are able to take advantage of people who need help fast. they know that insurance can cover so they charge super high.
insurance peeps said they'd come in 72 hours. its been way pass. boo.
