synonyms... or as my sister used to say as a child, cinnamons!

strange thoughts... are there any synonyms for the words black, white, or grey? colors have SO many shades and nuances that it is very easy to specifically describe EXACTLY what color you are thinking of (at least there are if you had the *big* pack of crayola crayons as a kid...) but black, white and grey are a little less descriptive.. how do you ( Read more... )

Most of the synonyms I can think of are technically actual objects (or adjectives of objects.

Ebony, onyx, jet, inky

charcoal

ivory, milky

white - eggshell, alabaster, milky, blanched, pallid... depends on what you are describing

black - raven, sable, slate, charcoal (my favorite), sooty...

grey - silvered, slate (again, but black and grey are so closely related), charcoal (see slate), ashen, leaden, smoky, dusky, iron

the previous commenter was correct... most adjectives for these colors are really nouns
