voting aka random ranting

 voting has been on my mind, as of recently, and other various political-ness, due to the fact that i can't wait for bush to leave office. i recently learned that in australia, voting is compulsory.. meaning everyone HAS to vote, or they get fined. this is awesome. i think it is just a fabulous idea. ok, yes, i hear the general populace saying

The majority of voters now are idiots, but I'm with the "there are way more stupid jerks who don't vote."

Voting is important, I vote and I'm glad you do, but I'm not sure how I feel about 'mandatory' voting. I mean, unless it happened on a stat holiday, a fine could just penalize people unfairly.
