On the subject of souls...

So I was talking to a friend of mine that has paranormal abilities. He and I got on the subject of past lives at one point and I remembered that I had wanted to share my feelings on that theory for some time but had forgot. This is my rectification of that.

First off, I don't necessarily believe in past lives. It is a lil complicated. It kind of ties into my personal religion, and if you care to have been paying attention, I don't really talk about. My reasons are my own, but I can tell you that I believe that when you die, your soul has multiple parts. These fragments move on to different places so to speak. Some of them combine with other fragments from other previous individuals and form new souls. These new souls then may exhibit a "past life" feel. So when you meet someone on the street that you just know you should have met before, perhaps you did. Just in another life, when you both shared the same part of a soul. This also leads me to believe that there is a type of "soul memory" that we all share to some degree or another. Sometimes things and places just feel familiar, just feel right. That I attribute to the soul memory. Of course I didn't say how many pieces each soul is divided up into. I simply don't know. But I would think that the soul is a complex thing and that it had multitudes of fragments. If you want to go a step further and incorporate other souls in the mix, such as animals, then you can even have an explanation for those people that identify with animals or animalistic tendences.

Well, this wasn't meant to go into great detail. As usual it wasn't meant to fully explain, just simply to make you think and see me better.
