i've been thinking about one of those... my little Honda is about to die (270k miles heh) and Hyundais seem to be getting pretty popular. Can i ask what you ended up paying?
i don't know anyone who "enjoys" dealing with car salesmen. It's just one of those things in life that we gotta do. :)
Just a hair over 3k, and it's in very clean condition, superficially and internally. From my research, I gathered that hyundai sucked 15 years ago or so, but has come a long way. Their newer models are known not for being outstanding (it is just a 4 cyclinder 2 door, yet with more juice than any 4 cylinder I've driven) but are being known for being quite reliable, on the whole.
And yes, it is "one of those things in life" that we have to do if we wish to live in the manner of this society. That is, however, different from being one of those things we have to do. ;)
i almost bought one of those when i was car-shopping a year ago. they were so inexpensive and so sensible. i ended up paying more and getting a used jetta which i LOVE but is such a pain in the butt.
car salesmen are so creepy sometimes. especially in so cal where they're all tanned and greasy. a;lsdkfjlkj.
This guy was full on sleaze style... from cali, actually.
With a bald man's mullet, that too tan skin, gold necklace and a couple of gold rings. Top couple buttons undone to spurt out with the sleazy chest hair as well. And yes, just him.
haha a bald mans mullet? oh my. my car salesman, i still remember him well... his name was Fernando. he had a super-tan and sun-bleached hair and that top buttons undone style going on too. and he talked in a really thick accent. he used to go surfing before work apparently. told me all about it even. you can guess how thrilled i was ;)
He had to move me through 4 different salesmen, all of whom tried to get me to budge on the initial price I said I'd pay. What I had to do was not budge in the slightest, and wait for them to realize that what they had to do to get my business was to just give me a decent deal.
Now that I've got a reliable car with good mpg, I think it's time for a seattle trip... soon.

So what did the salesman have to do to put you in that car on that day?
