In brief: Based off of Deck events and crimes, Jamie MacDougall novels all star Dabney Rush, an eccentric Chicago millionaire who - in between society events and collecting books - solves the crimes of the Chicago elite. His sidekick is Timmy Sandoval, who trails after him, keeping him out of trouble as well as organizing his life as his P.A.
Characters:
- Dabney Rush: Amateur detective and professional eccentric. Independently wealthy.
- Timmy Sandoval: Personal assistant and sidekick
- Lindley Claren: The murder victim in the first Dabney Rush novel, based off of Lindsey Clarke, King of Diamonds
- Anderson Fletcher: Charming philanthropist, mysteriously murdered. Based on Andrew Fioro, King of Clubs
- Ariana Fletcher: Anderson's wife, based off of Argine Fioro, Queen of Clubs
- Daniel Cooper: Anderson's mysterious and possibly malicious business associate. Based off of David, King of Spades
- August Zauberer: A billionaire recently arrived in Chicago who recently died from what appears to autoerotic asphyxiation. Based off of Gustave Asarlai of the Arcana.
- Keegan Pope: Young college student, strangled in Lincoln Park.
Kathleen Masters
In brief: Published by the Xius' publishing company, these mysteries star Stacy Wheelock, a clever and inquisitive seventeen year old Three of Clubs who solves mysteries on the Deck. These mysteries have included stolen jewelry, mysterious disappearances, and missing heirlooms.
Characters:
- Stacy Wheelock: Currently a Three of Clubs, Stacy resides in Town with her parents, Darius and Regina Wheelock. She's a star student and popular, with friends both in Town and in the Castles.
- Whitney Kipling: A Two of Diamonds and Stacy's best friend, she often gets dragged into mysteries with her.
- Justus Walsh: Stacy's on-again off-again love interest. A Four of Spades.
