IC Information;
Character Name; Sora Naegino
Canon; Kaleido Star And a wiki link!
Canon Point; Post OVA #2
Age; In the beginning of the series she is 16 but from the point I’m taking her, I can assume she is at least 18.

House; By personality, Sora would be best in the Sigyn House. She is someone who is kind and gentle as shown in the second season of her canon that she wishes to create a conflict-free stage.

Power; Healing

Personality; You know those people that are so happy and optimistic that you wanna smack them because you feel bad and they don’t? Sora happens to be one of those people. She’s usually cheerful to the point that people don’t like her; until they get to know her better. These words best describe her: determined/stubborn, loving, and naïve.

Let’s start with point one: determined. When someone says ‘Jump!’, Sora would do it and do it twice as hard. Sometimes, it’s not even on purpose but just people wanting to spite her. This is seen mostly in the beginning of the series when Sora joins the troupe by going through the boss instead of auditions like everyone else. In her defense, she was trying to catch a thief who took her stuff and made her late to the auditions. Some performers even twisted her words around and got the girl in trouble with the main star, who challenged her to perform her signature move in one week or to leave Kaleido Stage. The important fact is when Sora is given a task, she works extremely hard to accomplish it, even getting sick or working with injuries to do what people ask of her; before her audition for Dracula, she practiced all night in the rain to perform a certain maneuver and ended up getting sick during the audition. Hence the stubborn part. However, like most humans, Sora can give up when the pressure is too much for her to handle but she gets up and tries again. Sometimes, she needs a push when she doesn’t want to do anything (Leon Oswald pulling her on stage during a performance of Romeo and Juliet despite her protests and attempts to leave; he doesn‘t let her go so easily.). When someone needs help, Sora is there to encourage them through talking and performing.

Sora is one of the kindest people anyone would meet. She will never say anything mean about someone and will always look on the positive side of things. However, she can be angry when pushed too far: Leon Oswald knows this first hand during the Dracula auditions when he badmouthed Sora’s former partner Layla, resulting in her yelling at him (and was another factor in her getting sick). The only person that can really make Sora mad is the spirit of the Stage, Fool. A spirit only seen by those who are meant to be on the Stage, he constantly makes Sora angry by being a pervert and she responds by throwing him out windows, once sticking him in a hot dog bun and trying to roast him in an oven, and occasionally gets locked in boxes. But Sora would never raise a hand to hurt anyone, even if they hit her first. An example is when another performer, May Wong, slaps her across the face and calling her coward for running away from the Stage and refusing to perform again. Sora believes that conflict make things worse and that is what inspires her to create a conflict-free stage where the audience and the cast‘s hearts can be one; she does this by performing the Angel’s Act in the production of Swan Lake at the end of the second season.

Sora is also a bit oblivious when it comes to matters of the heart; she won’t know someone is interested in her romantically unless they say it to her face. It almost happened with her friend Ken Robbins several times when he nearly confessed his feelings for her; something usually got in the way before he could say it though. It’s only one way: when it involves another person, she automatically is the first to try and make a love connection.

She also has a simple mind set, making her a bit naïve at times. In the beginning, other performers used it to their advantage such as a simple thing like cleaning the stage. Sora was trying to be nice and start early on cleaning but the others sneered and gave her all their jobs, making her late for rehearsal. But being naïve can cause her to shut down during big performances such as the Circus Festival when the competitors would do anything to win.

[The church Sora was in was peaceful; no one other than herself was inside and she was glad that it was. While she loved the fact that her house was full with new friends, the nagging feeling of the week earlier still remained. She didn't need to see it but the woman could tell that it hurt those closest to her. But she wasn't there because of that...this was something different. She didn't speak as she wandered around the room, searching for something.

It takes her at least twenty minutes but she stops finally and holds a couple items in her hands: two small tea light candles and some taper.]

I...really don't know how to go with this. I don't follow this type of religion.

[She was talking like someone was in the church with her but there was no one with her. She turned to the altar in front of her and set the candles on it, as she tried to figure how to work the taper. It took a bit with her cold hands but she managed to light them one by one.]

...Merry Christmas Mikey...

[And she slowly lit the second.]

...Merry Christmas Daisuke...

[Sora stepped back and sits at the front pew, hands resting on her lap and looks down, speaking softly.]

Please be safe back home.

[The woman started to feel tired and proceeded to lie down, wanting to just rest a moment...

but the communicator turns on. All it shows is just a slumbering Sora on the pew...with a ghost of a smile on her face.]

Log Sample;

“Mmm, that was a good one today.” Sora spoke to herself as she finished changing into her regular clothes, stuffing her work ones in her duffel bag. She looked at her face in one of the locker room mirrors and poked one of her cheeks. “I look so tired.” she moaned quietly with a sigh. “I’m glad no one else is here, they would be so worried.” it reminded her when she trained to do the Golden Phoenix and the Angel’s Act; both times her friends were sick with worry and had to force her to take breaks and sleep. Sora felt like she couldn’t afford to because her dream was on the line.

It was pretty late at night when the woman decided to finish her training for the day; everyone else in the troupe had left before the sun went down. Normally it would be her current partner, Leon, who would be the last to leave while she went off with her friends. However, the next production was going to be the biggest show Kaleido Stage had ever put together and Sora had to be on top of her game to keep her dream going. Lately, the young star had been staying in the gym until the early morning hours to practice new routines for the upcoming audition and it started to take its toll on her body. Bruises were on her feet and legs from using the trapeze and special ribbon and she even sprained her wrist as she tried performing a new move on the double rings. Needless to say, Sora was walking on a thin line between healthy and the breaking point.

It was simply worth it to her. When she returned to Kaleido Stage the second time, her goal was to create a conflict-free stage where the hearts of both the viewer and actor were one. When that goal could be done, the True Star was born.

“It’s all worth it.” Sora spoke to herself. “I’ll do what I can to make sure a conflict-free stage stays here and not for one time only.” She was confident and determined but still stubborn on getting things right.
