Shady deals in the dark are something to avoid if at all possible, Johnny! The lad is lucky he merely wasn't paid. He could just as easily have ended up beaten up or dead!

This entry made me think of the verses (but not the Chorus or title) of this Hold Steady song, which is also about trying to set up a shady deal, albeit in a parking lot. Of course, its set in Minneapolis, so whose to say that there's not snow everywhere?
