Seungri could not take the weight of his secret anymore. He had trouble hiding it since after the period when he always avoided Jiyong, he moved on to a period where he would always try to be not too far behind him. He was always the first to ask if it's okay to tag along whenever Jiyong went somewhere.
"Oh, hyungnim. Can I go with you?"
"Ah, Seungri..." Jiyong looked up when he heard the maknae walking toward him with that jolly smile on his face. He looked away and shook his head, "It's not necessary. I won't be gone for long."
A bark interrupted them.
"Lookit, Gaho. You got competition. You jealous?" Big Seunghyun joked around and looked down at the wrinkly dog. "Just bring Seungri, Jiyong. I'll walk Gaho for you."
"But I'm just going for some groceries." Jiyong said, adjusting his hat. "And I need some air... I'll be back soon, guys."
With that, he left. Seungri frowned at the other man's behavior. Normally, when he did not want Seungri to follow -which was rare- he never said where he was going and he only promised Seungri that they would go somewhere else together when he comes back later.
"He's acting so strange lately..." Seunghyun said, putting Gaho's food bowl down for the dog to eat his daily chow. "Have an idea what's up with the leader?"
"Not a clue. We didn't really talk lately." Seungri shrugged.
"That's pretty weird." Seunghyun commented, "You guys used to always be in each other's room."
"Yeah, well..." Seungri tried to smile, "Not like I know half of what goes on in his head or life, hyung. It's none of my business.
Seunghyun looked at the younger one, "Seungri, do you take me for an idiot?"
The younger man's eyes widen at the accusation, "Of course not, why would I?"
"Oh! Oh! can I go with you, hyungnim? Is that bag too heavy? Need some help with that?" Seunghyun made his infamous wide-eyed Seungri imitation then raised a thick eyebrow at the other, "You really think your crush on him isn't obvious? It can be seen from space like the Great Wall."
Seungri could feel his face flush red. "It's not like that..."
"I'm so sorry, boy. I love you but you're lying." The group's elder said, "Not 'cause I'm old that I can't see what's in front of me."
"It really isn't like this..." Seungri tried justifying his behavior again, "I just want to make sure he's alright..."
"Like... make sure he's always doing well and coming back to ya, huh?" The older man asked, turning to the fridge to fetch himself a some fruit. "Told him you're in love with him?"
It was useless to attempt anymore hiding. Big Seunghyun was definitely the smarter of the two and Seungri knew that he would lose if he tried to keep his game up much longer because when Seunghyun has something in target, he shoots straight to the heart like in IRIS.
"No, I haven't." Seungri finally admitted. "I can't just go to him and say 'hey hyung, I like you and I sort of fell in love with you. please accept my feelings!' "
"Yeah, that's exactly what you're gonna say. Minus the schoolgirl voice you just made." Seunghyun cut his fruit in dice into a bowl, "Who knows? He might return your feelings and fancy you too. You can't know until you tried."
"But hyung, it's not that eas--"
"Do it. Worse that can happen is that he says he wants to stay how you guys are." Seunghyun said, "And if all fails, I'll take you out for a drink or two... want some kiwi?"
The ideas of living this ideal relationship Seungri dreamed off really seemed appealing and he knew fully well that as long as h did not make the first move, nothing could be possible since Jiyong apparently did not guess his transparent feelings as fast as Seunghyun did... Then again, there was also the possibility that he gets rejected and that Jiyong really wants all to stay just the way it was like Seunghyun said...
Staying like they were.... Did Seungri even want that? Would he be able to bear a relationship where they were both objects to other?
Their friendship was important to him, yes, but it was sompletely unrelated and he knew it would survive. On the other hand, the bond they shared was something that has always been here and that was surely going to crumble no matter what the outcome would be. If they did start on a romantic relationship, Seungri would finally have more than a few fucks and get to express those feelings he bottles up inside... but if Jiyong said no, there were chances that the feeling Seungri had for him drove him away from him and that he would not want this from Seungri again.
"You know what, hyung?" Seungri looked up, declining the kiwi with a hand gesture. "I'm going to tell him."
"Ingrate child, nature gives you kiwi because it's great for your body." Seunghyun said, grabbing himself a spoonful of the fruit salad he just made. "Invite me to your wedding. Invite the kiwi too."
"Sure thing, hyung." The younger smiled and went to his room, his throat feeling dry and tight.
He was putting all his cards on the table without knowing what Jiyong had in stores for him. He was either going to win or lose it all...
That was a risk he was ready to take.
