I think a lot of it is maturity. I tried to read Woolf at 14 and got nowhere, but when I went back at 15 I loved her and have since. That's what I love about writing, though--imagine you were emotionally and mentally equipped to deal with everything at 12. Frightening. But there are always new things to read depending on where you are in your life. One of my favorite things ever is that moment of realisation when you are reading something and it just fits and you get everything. And you get that over and over how much better is it when something that had completely baffled you just suddenly makes brilliant sense? I'm afraid this is terribly incoherent (grammar, out the window!). I think even if you dismiss things, the great literature will draw you back again and again.

What are you reading right now? Any good poetry recommendations?
