I like non-human names... saves on confusion when/if you get a friend by the same name. Having said that, I like Lou-eye, especially if you double name him like the song, then it's not so human-like. I also like the name Berlin (rhyming with Merlin, here), for some odd reason. I think if I named any of my pets Murdoch, I'd end up calling them Doc. I find much humor in Colbert as a name, but not if you're going to get made fun of a lot.

When I named by black cat, I stared at her for days, asking her what her name was. I finally started calling her Mo... which was short for something, but I ultimately ended up with Monet. It fits on her... but some days I wonder if she shouldn't have been named Van Gogh (she has mental disorders and loves to torture herself).

Ugh, I wanted to! But my stepdad convinced me otherwise... "you're naming him after an american tv celebrity?" Sigh. He's Arthur Lee Cricket now.

My sister wants to get a cat just to name it Ziggy
like Ziggy Stardust
& I think you should beat her too it.

or Louie. like the mysterious Louie Louie & it's sweet, indestinguishable lyrics. damn, I want a kitten.

I MOVED!
by the way
to Montreal in my own apartement. well, it's my roomate's too.
point being I'm back in Ottawa but am going to Montreal for real (sort of) on Wednesday.

there is a music festival there on Labour Day weekend that I am so ridiculously excited about & need to go to & that you will fully understand the awesomeness (some people actually haven't... they're mad as hatters, of course):
Osheaga Music + Arts Festival
Sonic youth, The flaming lips, Clap your hands say yeah!, Dinosaur jr., Metric, Wold parade, Bedouin soundclash, Kid Koala, Islands, Bell orchestre, Final fantasy, The hidden cameras, We are wolves
& M-M-M- MORE

sorry for the fucking looooong comment.
(of awesomeness)

I went with Arthur Lee Cricket, because Arthur Lee died the week I got him and my mum was calling him Cricket while I was away. Ziggy's good too, but Lauren can have it, ahaa.

And, well, ... OMFG! Are you (er, were you, since this is a late reply) quivering with constant anticipation, scared absolutely shitless or in some sort of beautifully raw and possibly incompetent mix of the two?

Post pics. And yeah, my friend and I were gonna go to Osheaga.. until we realized it's impossible due to timing and lack of funds.
Last night I was gonna reply that I was going to the Weakerthans later free at U of T that night and was all excited. But we missed them. So I saw Metric again. Which is nothing to complain about but seeing as it was the third time I might have rathered the Weakerthans. Oh well, it was still great.

Need.Montreal.Stories.
(to get me through the next couple years of torture in this surburban cesspool trying to get the grades to go there.)
((lng cmt = lng cmt/ eye for an eye...))

Good advice, but I already named him. That post is from almost a month ago.
He's Arthur Lee Cricket now, whether I like it or not.
I still call him Kitty/Baby a lot though.
