On Sunday, I went to the movies to watch Sherlock Holmes (starring Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Rachael McAdams) and Avatar.

Though I still like the movie. But I also freely admit I like some movies with plots/worlds that are not completely logical.

I liked the movie in concept. plot-wise, problematic. Themewise, distasteful. Giant concept of world/and animals? Pretty interesting and worth looking at in detail. Humans not necessary. >.>

There is a lot of colonialism, and the whole, 'white person guilt fantasy', which as one of the links I'd linked to said, it's the ultimate fantasy of rejecting colonialism. White dude gets to REBEL against his evil people, gets to be ONE of the minority, HELPS the minority, becomes a better samurai Na'vi than the Na'vi, becomes their God of Woah, and gets to lead them to victory.
It's a white man's story. If it had been made by and for, say, Native Americans, the story would have been entirely different.
