My students are lining up in droves to consult with the reference librarians. (It's an option to earn points for their research paper.
nothing like extra credit to inspire a student.
admittedly, i always feel bad doing this to my own students. once a critical # of students jump on the bandwagon, it becomes some version of inflation for grades; if you don't do it, then you're suddenly behind the curve.

And even if it WERE extra credit, this is one problem I'd be happy to have. Behind the curve because you *didn't* consult a librarian?
