How do you deal with something like having to give up a child for their own safety?

Yeah, I know. See, I had this girlfriend about 10 years ago, ran out on me. She she asked me for help, and introduced me to Conner. She told me he was my son. She was lying, but that doesn't change the fact that I still think of him as mine, you know? I do a lot of things kids have no business being around, so yeah, I feel ya, brother.

I really doubt the situation will change. At "best", one day she'll be old enough to take care of herself and have enough enemies of her own it won't matter if a few of mine target her. That sort of seems to be the family way of things.
