Stay What You Are is one of my favorite albums ever. But I got the next one and honestly it never clicked with me. It's like they took it off in a new direction that was more about being polished and cool sounding and less about the raw emotional pain. Which is what they're really good at.

Helping other people out with their shit makes you feel better in the short run, but if they don't turn around and help you out with your shit it return it almost becomes a waste of energy. I used to meddle between my family members all the damn time when they were fighting or whatever, and all it did was make them whine and bitch at me instead of getting anything solved. If you can get people to be honest on the one hand and to actually give a shit about you on the other, that's when help is actually helpful. And hey, if you can trick your family into being relaxed and honest with drugs, I think that's a sweet idea if it works.

i stopped trying because I can't recall any area of my life (except my family... kinda) where I gave a lot of myself and got it back in any way shape or form. it gets old and you run out...

stay what you are... wasn't that two albums ago? after "through being cool". it was OKAY. it was right when they started to break out real big. i like the first cd the best. it's sickkkkk

You run out because you don't get back what you send, yeah.

Who am I? Just some random person. Basically I put Joe (eatatkinkos) on my friends list 'cause we were both involved in some brief but hilarious argument on the lj_debate community. And you're one of the people who regularly comments on his journal, and you seemed cool, so I figured I'd check out your journal.
