Wow, so hey, how's it going? Miss me? I sure missed you guys. Lots of stuff has been going on. What kind of stuff you ask? Well, we had a near miss with a flash flood. When you say base do you mean the sketch? I think that's the perfect place to begin to teach yourself how to use it, as it's not going to be seen by anyone once the art is done (Unless you want to show it, which many do).

Then of course, you have to print out in blue line the way Dave Gibbons apparently does and ink from there. What eventually happens is you start to hate the face that you have that extra step in there and you start to experiment with making the art look finished while it's still there in the computer, before you know it you are making it all in the computer. At least I think that would happen. I make so much art for animation in flash that when it's time to doodle I just stayed in there and this is what I end up with.

His finished art was really underwhelming though. I think it's a product of being an animator, one is used to doing alot of drawings very quickly, not making one really great drawing. My bad sketch sensibilities aren't much help to me in animation, but somehow I squeak by ( ... )

I do, it's one thing I like about Manga. I'd like to say I do that intentionally, rather than as a result of laziness, but I would have to convince myself of that first.
