When Drew told Mandy he had a big surprise, he really didn't. So obviously, when Mandy had agreed to their date, he panicked. He needed to come up with something fun and original. Mandy was still putting the final touches on getting ready when she heard the door bell right. He would get here right on time when she was running late. She started running around frantically finishing getting ready when called to her mother to get the door.

Mandy's mom washed her hands off and set the towel back on its rack before going to the front door. She oped it up with a smile, "Hello there, you must be Drew. Come on in." She stepped to the side to let him in.

"Thanks. It's so nice to meet you," he said, following her inside. Drew ran his fingers through his hair and looked around.

"This is a really great house. Early twentieth century, right? Classic design."

She was impressed with his quick observation of the house. "Why yes, it is. Mandy's father bought it when we got married. It has served us well, especially thanks to a few fix-it spells. Mandy mentioned you were interested in architecture."

Mandy almost had a heart attack when she heard her mother say that. Thankfully she had just finished getting ready. She adjusted her dark blue dress and slid on her sandals and ran down the stairs and into the living room, "Hey Drew."

Drew barely had time to react when Mandy came down. But he smiled from ear to ear. She was talking about him.

"I am, actually. My father was, well is, an architect. He built the house my mother, sister, and I live in now," he answered, always feeling comfortable when it came to talking architecture.

Then he turned to Mandy, still smiling.

"You look amazing."
