Damn Interesting

It's best not to clog up your "friends" page.

I found a website (I've linked to it in the past) call Damn Interesting, which is full of random articles that are, well, damn interesting.

Damn interesting is in the process of publishing a book, and the most recent article happens to be the first fresh article for some time; their efforts have been devoted to writing the book, and they hav been recycling articles for some time.

This is all secondary, however, the fact that I'm way behind in postings.

What?

No interesting diversions?
No projects of fancy?
No rants or raves?

Well, frankly, no.

Lara and I are still getting our apartment set up. We spend a good bit of time every weekend getting better settled. Not that we have had may weekends. It's only been a bit over a month since we were wed.  I have a lot to post, but motivation is lacking. I have to admit that my new job is not quite as exciting as the old one. I spend a lot of time figuring out, then documenting what other people have done. It is not spectacular. I end up digging through poorly documented analysis VB scripts, and loads of Excel spreadsheets. It suits me well for the time being, but I'd like to do something with more learning potential.

I recently discovered that people have been building homes mansions fortresses from decommissioned ICBM missile silos. Holy smokes, that's an awesome prospect. These properties are a bit out of my price range at the moment, though not exceptionally, although the cheaper ones require "remodelling". http://www.siloworld.com/SITES%20FOR%20SALE/SitesForSale.htm

After living in the Innes Station building, a renovated 1920's warehouse, I'm all about dwellings that come from a unique past, with creatively modified architecture. Perhaps something special will come our way one day.

Anyhow, I've pretty well used up my motivation for one sitting.

I hope to post more soon
