Writing Rants - Will I ever write successfully?

Warning: I am about to start a rant about my writing and yes, I have said some of this before in previous journal entries, and yes its totally a first word problem. It's just on my mind at the moment and I need to vent lol. Feel free to ignore if its not your thing

That's great that you are writing down your ideas, hold onto those! Put them in a designated place or a folder and maybe go back to them from time to time. Maybe once a week or so? Eventually I am sure you will have more to add and maybe do even some writing.

I'm struggling with my own crap too. I have a first draft of something done. It's a pretty awful draft because it's a first draft and it desperately needs rewriting, however, I am putting it off constantly. I rewrote first 20 pages or so probably 10 times by now, but haven't moved past those 20 pages.

But, I'm trying to kick myself in the ass and I think I am very close to starting actual, consistent work. :D

This blog here helped a lot, especially posts about beating procrastination and building new habits. :)

Glad I am not the only one in this position. I have kept all the ideas and will do as you suggested with them. I think you hit the nail on the head with the consistency comment. That's exactly what I think I need to do, keep it consistent then maybe I will get into the groove. Thanks for the link too will check it out :)

have you ever taken part in national novel writing month? you don't have to write the full story anymore in the month, just literally get 50k words written. might help jump-start you on one of those sets of ideas.

I tried last year but only got half way through. Am planning to try again this year and hopefully this time I will get it done. Just a shame Its not until November but will be participating don’t you worry :)

yeah, it's the worst when you get a really good idea in february and go "i have to wait until november? ugh, the worst".

do it again this year! it'll likely be my final year of taking part, so let me pass the baton onto you!
