Grabbing a notebook to scribble in is a good idea... not only is it good to scribble ideas down, but it's great for killing time. I bought a small notebook a couple months ago and always keep it in my inside pocket on my jacket. I'm almost half way through writing in it.. with a help from a couple doodles me and my gf drew on the skytrain.
