I feel like nobody has ever enjoyed, like nobody has ever experienced music they way I do with the solo works of Thelonious Monk.

Solo Monk and Thelonious Himself: Solo Piano by Thelonious Monk are both available in your local record store. I'm just sayin'.

Really? I admit, I only have one album of Charles Mingus', and it's a live album (Mingus at the Bohemia), but I don't see him as being on the same level of genius as a Monk or a Coltrane, jazz bass virtuoso though he is (the best bassist of that era, for sure)...and I'm not trying to be antagonistic here at all, I'm just surprised. Can you recommend any canonical Mingus albums for me? I'm always up for expanding my collection.
