Working For Free

So...that job I didn't know what exactly it was; turns out it was for Kirby vacuum. Went through their training, all signed up, and have worked three full 12 hour days, at no pay. No sale, no commission. So I'm not sticking with them (though I do want one of their vacuums). Thankfully, I haven't gotten word back from one of the tech support jobs I ( Read more... )

Something seemed wrong to me.. but it wasn't the knife co. that I'm familiar with, so I wasn't sure what.

I asked them about the secrecy during my training, and they said it was the "Kirby Kurse". Mentioning it in the first interviews, they get a 100% turnover rate, whereas when they don't reveal what the job entails until you're effectively already working for them, they get about an 80% turnover.

So -- lesson for the future, if they're secretive about it --it's because they have 100% turnover if they told you what the job was.

My company has 25% turnover and that's considered rediculous
