Icons: tiny splurge

I upgraded to a paid account so I could do more customizations and play with more icons. *g*

I'll probably be borrowing a lot of icons, because while I seem to make well-liked vids, I can't make an interesting icon to save my life. Other people's are so much prettier than mine. My Photoshop skills are all about adjusting brightness and contrast

Whoa, you think you're not good at making icons? I *wish* I knew how to make icons like that! Doodles, you're really one of those people who is simply good at everything and doesn't think she is!

You are very sweet!! No, I guess what I mean is that all I really know how to do is crop a picture and slap some text on it. Other LJ people seem to do really wonderful work with gradients, brushes, filters - all of that artsy stuff that's so cool. I just think mine look plain, and not very artistic. (Like the Angel/brooding one - all that shadowy stuff was from the picture itself. I didn't do anything but add the "brooding" line.)

But I thank you for the compliment. And feel free to use them if you like them. :)

Well, I don't even know how to slap text on them . . . I suppose I could learn, but this is a lot of stuff I need to learn when I come visit you: how to use my DVDs to make music videos, icons, etc, how are we ever going to go out and have fun? =)

Heh - we'll just bring our laptops everywhere we go. *lol*

A lot of this stuff - the vidding, the icons, building web pages, all of that - mostly I just started messing around with whatever program I had on my computer. I picked up tips online, some books/manuals, and a couple of times some people gave me pointers. I be more than happy to teach you stuff :) but in the meantime I highly encourage just messing around with whatever you've got on the PC out there. You're already off to such a good start with the vidding! :)
